The DK77 Series Fast Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) machine is a high-performance CNC cutting solution for metal parts. This high-speed wire EDM operates using a rapidly reciprocating molybdenum wire electrode (8-10 m/s) that can be reused, achieving cutting speeds with precision between 0.05-0.08 mm.
The machine utilizes electrical discharge principles where the negatively charged wire and positively charged workpiece create sparks when within discharge gap distance. These sparks generate high temperatures that melt/vaporize the workpiece surface, while the wire movement and working fluid remove material to form precise cuts. The molybdenum wire's high melting point ensures minimal wear compared to the workpiece.
Ideal for mold manufacturing, difficult-to-machine materials, and complex components, this fast wire EDM excels in large-thickness mold processing. Maintaining optimal performance requires regular replacement of consumables (guide wheels, guides) and quality control of molybdenum wire and cutting fluid.
Developed from 1960s technology and continuously improved through innovations in computer controls, working media, and composite fluids, modern fast wire EDMs like the DK77 Series combine enhanced functionality with improved environmental performance and design aesthetics.
